One of the most sought after Beardies is the Red Bearded Dragon. The red color in their skin can range from crimson to red flame. Like all Beardies, these make great pets and can easily be handled with care and gentleness. Even though they’re one of the top Beardies on the market, you can still find them sale through different sources but you do need to be careful what that source is.

Going through a private party-a person who owns and has cared for a Red Bearded Dragon is one way you can find one for yourself. Most private parties have Beardies that are a much loved part of the family but cannot no longer keep the pet for one reason or another. In that case, you can often find them in good health at a fraction of the original cost though you might have to pay for shipping or travel fees.

Another way to find a Red Bearded Dragon is through a breeder. Legitimate breeders take pride in the way they care for their exotic lizards and the conditions in which the Beardies are kept are excellent. If you decide to get a Beardie from a breeder, don’t be afraid to ask questions about how the Beardies are housed. Overcrowding conditions can lead to a sick Beardie and you don’t want to start off on your Beardie journey that way. Some people will suggest getting a Beardie from a pet shop but those are not always the best route to take as many pet shops know very little about the care and raising of a Beardie.
