You also don’t want to use any type of mesh that’s been spray painted since many paints still contain some level of lead. Plus, using mesh can make it hard for you to be able to maintain the correct temperature the lizard needs. Don’t use all Plexiglas for the sides of your enclosure since Plexiglas can heat up the inside of the cage and make your Beardie become overheated.

You don’t have to have a degree in engineering and you don’t have to be a carpenter to build Bearded Dragon cage but what you have is the knowledge of whether this will be a stationary cage or whether you plan to relocate it some time in the future. If you build a massive cage that weighs quite a lot, it could be difficult to move it. Many experts will tell Beardie owners to give the Beardie a cage that meets the basics. But to give him a home he loves, you’ll need to go beyond that.
