Bearded Dragon Tanks

How many Bearded Dragon tanks you have to set up depend on the types of Beardies you get and what your purpose is for bringing home these exotic lizards. If you plan to keep one or two Beardies strictly as pets, then you might not need more than one tank. It depends on a few factors-such as whether or not you’re bringing home a male and a female, or two males or some juvenile Beardies. Two adult male Beardies cannot reside in the same tank, it’s not in their nature to share the alpha position. However, two juvenile Beardies can share a tank for a while even if both are male.

Regardless of whether you set up your Bearded Dragon tanks for pleasure or profit, all tanks have to contain the same basic items in order for your lizards to thrive. You’ll need have a type of substrate, which is a flooring for your Beardie. In the past, some owners have used shells from walnuts but this isn’t safe for your pets. Don’t use any type of crushed shells as a substrate. You’ll need to make sure you have a thermometer or two per tank-one to test the cool side of the tank, the other the warm side. You’ll also need a basking perch and a light for your Beardie. Finally, give him a shelter so that when he wants to hide, he can.
