Beard Dragons
Some of the coolest lizards on the planet happen to be Beard Dragons. They’re fascinating creatures to observe both in the wild and in captivity as a pet. What you cannot do with an exotic pet is to take it from its natural surroundings and expect it to adapt to any old life that you decide to give it. His captive home must be as close as possible to his home in the wild in order for him to be healthy and for you to be happy because a sick, agitated lizard isn’t fun to be around.
Some people think that Beard Dragons are popular because they’re easily found and fairly inexpensive to obtain but that’s not why they’re popular. They’re popular because while they might look frightening (especially when their beard is out) in reality, they’re very quiet, very friendly and gentle when treated with love and kindness. Many Beardies will develop a bond with their owners and the owners with their pet lizards and it’s easy to see why!
There are different types of Beard Dragons and their origins can be found in Australia-unless you’re talking about the Giant Dragons. These lovable pets can differ in both size and color-from drab grays to brilliant reds or oranges with the male being larger than the female. Both can be handled in the same manner when you want to pick them up.
You simply center your hand on the dragon’s abdomen and lift him carefully from his cage. Beard Dragons are a reptile that doesn’t mind being handled and while it won’t snuggle like a furry pet, it will return the love it’s given. Some owners say that their Beardies have even learned to recognize the sound of their voices and will run, mouth open toward them when they enter the room.
